NeoPlanet

NeoPanet is a new browser that uses the same engine as Internet Explorer 4 and 5. It will take it most of its settings from there and you can look through the settings for these packages on our Internet Explorer page.

To set the internal NeoPlanet settings click on View and then Control Panel (all settings available here). You should now have a screen similar to the one below.

To change the page that NeoPlanet first logs onto when starting. Click on the Your Home Page.

Simply type the URL (web address) of the site that you want to use as your homepage or if you have the site opened already click on the Use Current Page button.

The e-mail settings should be as follows.

By using the Select a different E-mail Program.... you can inform NeoPlanet to use a different e-mail client from its own. See our E-mail section on the helpdesk documents for more information on setting up e-mail programs.

The third option Look and Feel is a setting that is unique to NeoPlanet. Using this option you can chane the look of NeoPlanet to suit your own tastes. This is un-supported by the helpdesk.

Internet/IE Settings takes you to the main Internet Options screen used for settings Internet Explorer. Please see the Internet Explorer page on settings these.

Modem Speed Booster should be used at your own discretion. This is un-supported by the helpdesk.

By changing the settings in the Startup Options you can configure what NeoPlanet does when you first start it.

Show Splash Screen This is the NeoPlanet screen that appears before the main browser window opens. By taking this off NeoPlanet will load faster.
Check for new mail This option will get NeoPlanet to use the choosen method for e-mail, to check for new mail and inform you if there is any waiting.
NeoPlanet should check...... If you use more than one browser on your PC or have been installing other browsers, by having a check mark in this option, NeoPlanet will check to make sure that it is the default program for web browsing and looking at HTML files.
Keep the program running...... This keeps a little NeoPlanet symbol in the taskbar (next to the clock) even when you close NeoPlanet down. It means that NeoPlanet is sitting in the background and will start quicker the next time you launch it.

The Channel Designer screen allows to create and edit channels for use on the channel bars. This is un-supported by the helpdesk.

Dial-up Options allows you to define what dialler NeoPlanet connect to Madasafish with. We recommend that you use Windows own dialler (Dial-Up Networking) for this. Instructions on settings this up are available from the main helpdesk documents screen.

The Enhanced Browsing section allows you to switch on and off the options seen below. These can be changed at the users discretion.
