Compare phone companies
	Comparable Performance Indicators This site contains downloadable booklets that describe in great detail a comparison between the telecom providers in the UK based on a number of criteria. Very useful if you want an accurate way to find out more than just a comparison of prices.
	OFTEL - Consumer Advice This is the section of the OFTEL website that is aimed at helping consumers to make educated choices about their telecom provider and aid them with any complaints. It is full of useful information as well as good links to other relevant sites.
	Phonebills A good independent comparison service if you live in an area covered by BT, Kingswest, Eurobell or Telewest. It can help you choose the most economical phone deal based on a variety of details about your phone usage and current package. Endorsed by OFTEL.
	Save on Your Bills As the name suggests, this website can help you save money on your monthly utilities bills. Take the time to fill in some relevant details and you will be given advice and information about how you could find a cheaper deal for phone, electricity and gas.
	Telecoms Advice This is an organisation set up specifically to help small businesses find the right telecom provider. Packed with practical advice and information that will help you evaluate your current situation and make improvements. A valuable tool.
	U Switch A really good practical website that allows you to compare prices and find the best deals from utility suppliers around the UK. It will take a few minutes of form filling but it will highlight any changes that you could make to save yourself money.
Contact a phone company
	British Telecom BT's website is a massive sprawling maze of interlinked and cross referenced sites. This means that al the information you need is in there somewhere, it can just take a while to find it. If you don’t get too frustrated, this can be a very useful site.
	Magenta - UK Telecom Operators This is an alphabetical list of links to the vast majority of UK telecom operators. All the major companies are listed here along with the vast majority of smaller ones. A click on one of the names will take you straight to the companies website.
	NTL NTL offer a range of digital TV, broadband internet access, phone and ISP services. They are not available everywhere so the first thing to do is check your postcode to see what's available in your area. Their service is one of the cheapest and fastest.
	OFTEL - Contact Details Listing This is an ugly comprehensive listing of the contact details (including links to websites where applicable) of every company holding a telecom operating licenses in the UK. It’s a long list but you can jump through alphabetically and they’re all in there.
Contact a phone network
	O2 This is the official 02 mobile phone network page (formerly BT Cellnet). You can find out all about the latest deals, the available tariffs and get information about the network and company as well as sending free text messages.
	Orange This is the official Orange site. Here you can find out all you need to about the Orange network. You can also find out about Orange sponsored events and read news and features.
	T-Mobile This is the official T-Mobile site. It has all the information about tariffs, phone deals and the T-Mobile network. There is also a host of useful information for existing and potential T-Mobile subscribers.
	Virgin Mobile This is the official site of Virgin Mobile. You can find out about how the Virgin deal works, find out the latest prices and access your account.
	Vodafone This is the official Vodafone site. There is loads here for anyone who is interested in Vodafone or is already a current subscriber. All the tariffs, deals and information about the network can be found here.
Contact an independent watchdog
	Office of Communications The Office of Communications is made up of OFTEL, the Radio Authority, the Radiocommunications Agency, the ITC and the Broadcasting Standards Committee. You can access the websites of each of these organisations from here.
	Office of Fair Trading The main government agency involved in consumer rights. The Office of Fair Trading is concerned with whether or not the way you were sold something is fair, not how good or bad the product is. The people to speak to if you feel unfairly treated.
	OFTEL This is the government run telecommunications watchdog. The consumer information area of the site provides useful information about the performance of telecommunications companies and can help you to make a more educated choice about your phone supplier.
