![]() This cover disc is produced by the APC magazine editorial team as a supplement to both our paper edition and Web site, http://apcmag.com. It's designed to save you time searching for and downloading software from the Internet, and to make it easy to try the software and resources we review and refer to in the magazine and on our Web site. |
|
Even if you have an Internet connection, we recommend you browse this CD while you're
offline to save time and money. We do provide links to online references where
appropriate, and you can activate these at any time simply by starting your Internet
connection and following the links marked with a symbol.
We've followed very much the same model for this CD as for the magazine itself. We provide pages for you to read, in this case marked up in the language of the World Wide Web -- HTML. As a result, this CD doesn't require any special software to be installed in order for you to be able to use it — there is no APC proprietary program included — and it can be used on any platform for which Web browsers are available.
We've provided the software on this disc for the convenience of our readers — to save you the effort of locating and downloading the more than 640M of material on this disc yourself. Much as with software from any site on the Web, the software on this CD is provided as is, in the hope it will be useful to you, and without any warranties express or implied.
As with our reviews and features in the paper magazine itself, if you're interested in a product or service we review or refer to, you should contact the company that distributes or supports it for more information or for any problems you have with it.
As with any software available on the Web, you should carefully read the licensing agreements and honour any evaluation or shareware terms specified. You should also read all instructions and README files, and virus check every program before use.
While we've taken every care to ensure that the software provided is useful and works, we can't accept responsibility or liability for any of the products included, and for support you should contact distributors or developers directly.
Although we do our best to verify all the files on the CD, occassionally some archives may be corrupted during transfer, or the CD itself may be damaged in transit. Magazines go through quite a bit before they reach our readers! If your CD is damaged, simply contact APC on (02) 9288 9123 to arrange for a replacement. If any of the file archives on the CD are corrupted, we will include those files on the following month's CD.
