Steganos SysLock - Configuration

Lock immediately on start

Choose this option if you want SysLock to lock up your system immediately after startup. This is useful if you want to switch off your system and you are not sure if someone will switch it on without your permission. A shortcut to SysLock must exist in the Autostart program group. Or if you do not want SysLock to be permanently active you can force SysLock to lock your system by simply running it.

Start minimized

If this option is activated the SysLock window will not be displayed after startup.

Hotkey to lock the system

Enter the hotkey to lock your system quickly here. Make sure that this hotkey is neither used by any other application nor Windows itself.

Change SysLock password

Click on this button to enter a new password by which you want to unlock your system once its locked.

Use Steganos KeyCard

If you own a drive for SmartCards and it is properly installed on your system you can create a KeyCard by which you can unlock your system in addition to your password.

Create KeyCard

Generates a password and saves it to the KeyCard. You don't have to remember a password at all. Simply enter your KeyCard into the drive and your system will be unlocked.

Lock immediately if KeyCard is removed

The system will be locked when you remove your KeyCard from the drive.

Activate alarm signal

SysLock can emit an alarm signal when an invalid password is entered to unlock the system. Choose this option to activate the alarm signal. You are able to determine if an unauthorized person tries to unlock your system if you are still in the vicinity. You can choose from using the internal speaker or playing a wave file. Click on Browse to choose a wave file. If you want to SysLock can loop the alarm endlessly.

Show image when system is locked

SysLock does not only lock your system it is also a simple screen saver. Choose this option if you want to display an image file when the system is locked.

Image file

Enter the image file here. The default setting is the file syslock.bmp. Click on Browse to choose another image file from your hard drive.

Resize image to fit screen

If the chosen image does not completely fit the screen you can force SysLock to resize the image.
