When you use QCD, you are not limited to the looks of the base player or skin รน you can easily change the appearance of a skin by switching the skin mode or layout. The default QCD skin has only one mode, but an infinite number of layout possibilities.
Differences between skin modes and layouts
All QCD skins have
a preset number of modes. Each skin mode uses its own unique bitmaps for
displaying QCD, skin modes look as similar or different as the skin creator
desires. When
a skin has one mode, such as the default QCD skin, we call it a skin kid.
When a skin has more than one mode, we call it a skin family
.
Each skin mode can have many layout possibilites. Layouts are saved configurations of a skin mode's window sizes and positions. Skin Layouts are saved and managed by the user.
