Password Retrieval

Password Retrieval options allow you to set how your password is given back to you if you forget it and use either the Password Reminders or Back Door feature to access it (the password, or unlocking SecureIt Pro in the case of the back door).

SecureIt Pro has many password reminder screens for times when you forget your password. Examples of places where password reminders can be found include in the main interface while SecureIt Pro is locked, in the Main Interface Lock feature, and also Settings Password Protect. The password retrieval screen has a few settings:

Password Reminder Screens

This sets how the correct password is returned to you in password reminder screens, like the ones mentioned above. Specify Display the original password if you want SecureIt Pro to show you your original password. Select Create a new password and use that instead if you want SecureIt Pro to create a temporary password for you. This could be used to protect the identity of your original password.

Note that you still have to type in an answer to your specified reminder question before you can get a password back. Once SecureIt Pro gives you the password (be it your original password or a new one that it has created), you then need to use that password to unlock the feature you are trying to access.

Back Door

When you activate the back door using the correct information (set during First Time Initialization), SecureIt Pro can either 'unlock' itself immediately (after you click the Unlock button), or it can give you a code that you must enter in order to 'unlock' SecureIt Pro.

The code will be given to you once you have successfully activated the SecureIt Pro back door. SecureIt Pro will give you instructions on how to enter this code.
