An icon is a small picture on the screen representing a file, a folder, or a program. The represented item opens when you double-click the icon.
Icon image files contain a bit-mapped image and image data specific to Windows and OS/2 applications. For example, when Windows draws an icon, it uses data in the file to combine the icon image with the pixels already on the display surface.
Your image must be exactly 32 X 32 pixels (see ôCapturing an Iconö) and no more than 16 colors (4-bit). If your image has more than 16 colors, create a 16-color duplicate using the Create Duplicate command.
To save an icon:
Using Screen Rip32, create the image you want to save as an icon.
Click the image and then choose File > Save As > Icon (*.ico).
The Save As dialog box appears.
Using the Save In list, choose a destination folder.
Click the File name field and enter a filename for the image.
Click Save.
