To configure your computer to use a proxy server for Internet access

1. Obtain the proxy system address from your system administrator.

2. On the View menu, click Options.

3. Click the Connection tab.

4. In the Proxy server area, select the Connect through a proxy server check box.

5. Click Advanced, and then type the appropriate proxy system address or addresses supplied by your system administrator.

Notes

• Microsoft Internet Explorer works only with proxy servers that are compliant with the CERN proxy server standard.

• If your computer is not yet configured to connect to a local area network (LAN), run the Internet Connection Wizard. To do this, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Internet Explorer, and then click Connection Wizard.

• For Help on an item, click at the top of the dialog box, and then click the item.
