Adding Controls to a Form

You can add controls to your form in design mode by selecting them from the Toolbox.

To add a control

• On the Toolbox, click the control you want to add to your form. Hold down the mouse button and drag the control onto your form. The control appears on your form in its default size.

  -or-

• On the Toolbox, double-click the control to add it to the center of your form. The control appears on your form in its default size.

  Click the control and drag it to the desired location.

To resize a control

• Highlight the control you want to resize (if it is not already highlighted), and resize it with the sizing handles.

Note   You can also use keyboard arrows to move the control. Use SHIFT+ Arrow keys to size the control.

To add event handler templates to a control

• Double-click a form or control to generate a method for the default event of the form or control. The event handler method is created in the Form class.

You can also add event handlers through the Event View of the Properties window.
