The UnixWare 7 system provides SCOadmin managers and other utilities with which you can install and configure additional hardware.
Use the Audio Configuration Manager to add and configure sound cards. You can play and record audio files with the scosound(X1) utility.
For more information, see ``Configuring audio adapters'' in the UnixWare 7 System Handbook or SCOhelp.
Use the Printer Setup Manager to:
Use the Network Configuration Manager to configure LAN network adapter drivers, WAN hardware, and LAN and WAN protocols.
For more information, see ``Configuring network adapters'' in SCOhelp.
Use the Video Configuration Manager to:
Use the Modem Manager to add serial modems to your system.
ISDN bus adapters are configured with the Network Configuration Manager.
For more information, see ``Adding and configuring modems'' in the UnixWare 7 System Handbook or SCOhelp.
Use the Serial Manager to configure individual serial ports on COM1 through COM4.
For more information, see ``Configuring serial ports'' in the UnixWare 7 System Handbook or SCOhelp.
Use the Device Configuration Utility (DCU) to add support for tape, CD-ROM, and hard disk drives which were not auto-detected during the installation process.
SCOadmin is the primary system administration tool in UnixWare 7. With SCOadmin managers, you can configure and then administer these key services on your system:

To administer SCO VisionFS, use the visionfs(1M) command on the UNIX server or run the VisionFS Profile Editor on the Windows client. For more information, see File and Print Services for Windows clients through VisionFS in SCOhelp.
By default, UnixWare 7 displays the graphical login program, dtgreet, when you boot the system into multiuser mode. To choose a desktop, select one of the following from the graphical login's Sessions menu:

This desktop is available if you corrupt your CDE desktop configuration files. It provides a basic, uncustomized CDE desktop.
All of the topics referred to in this chapter are available through SCOhelp, the documentation browser provided with UnixWare 7. SCOhelp is enabled by default in all system profiles except Small Footprint.
SCOhelp uses a powerful search engine powered by Verity, which
allows for multi-word and boolean searches and word stemming.
After you install all software and documentation, you must create
the search index using the
config_search(1M)
command.
This process takes up to an hour, but
the command can be run in the background. Enter the following in
a terminal window:
/usr/man/bin/config_search &
If you are indexing English language documentation only, you
can enter the following to speed the indexing process:
/usr/man/bin/config_search -L en_US.ISO8859-1 &
You can start SCOhelp in any of these ways:
