Track my cash

There are two ways to track your cash in Money. You can:
- Split your ATM withdrawals and categorize your spending The advantage is that this takes less time, but the disadvantage is that you wonÆt be able to track your payees (where you spent the cash).
How?
1 On the
navigation bar (The strip at the top of the Money screen where you can click to go to the different areas in Money.), click
Accounts.
2 At the top of the left pane, click the down-arrow
and then click the account you want.
3 Click Cash Withdrawal.
4 In the transaction form, click Split.
5 Enter the category, subcategory, description, and amount for each part of the split.
If you have an unassigned amount, such as sales tax, that you want to divide equally between all the parts of the split, press F6.
6 Click Done.
- Create a cash account Enter all your ATM withdrawals as transfers from whatever account you took the money from to the cash account. Then enter a transaction each time you spend cash.
How?
1 On the
navigation bar (The strip at the top of the Money screen where you can click to go to the different areas in Money.), click
Accounts.
2 In the upper-left corner of the
Account Register, click the down-arrow
, and then click the account you want.
3 In the middle of the screen, click Transfer.
The From field should show the name of the account youÆre using.
4 In the To field, enter the name of your cash account.
5 Go to your cash account.
6 Enter a transaction for each cash expenditure.
Experts recommend keeping a detailed record of every penny you spend for one month, to find out where your money is really going. Creating a cash account will help you track all of your expenditures to the penny.
