Are there any special requirements for doing this?
As long as you have a checking account in the U.S. and you have set it up for Direct Bill Payment (A Direct Financial Service that allows you to pay bills electronically, which can be used with any checking account in the U.S. After you set up Direct Bill Payment at your financial institution, you can have money electronically debited from your account and your financial institution will send that money to your designated payee.), you can pay your bills right from your computer.
If your financial institution (Banks, brokerage houses, and credit card providers.) can't process and deliver your payment by the date you entered, Money will ask if you want to accept a later date.
When the call is complete, Money shows you a summary of the instructions sent during the call, as well as information about any errors that might have occurred. If you want to save the call summary, click Save As.
What if I donÆt see the list box or the Epay here?
If you donÆt see this list box, it means that this financial institution is only set up for Web Financial Services. It must be set up for Direct Financial Services in order to create Epays. If there are no items in the list box, then no transactions are ready to send. Make sure you are in the Online area for the correct financial institution and that you have created the Epay correctly.
How does my financial institution know where to send the payment?
The first time you enter an Epay to a given payee (The individual or business to whom a check is written.), you'll be prompted to enter the payee details (such as name, address, and account number). Do so, and then click OK. When you enter the transaction, Money displays a lightning bolt with an open envelope in the Number field of the Account Register. This indicates a pending instruction that will be sent during your next Direct Bill Payment connection. After you transmit the instruction, a lightning bolt with a closed envelope
is displayed.
How do I open a saved call summary?
A call summary is saved as a text file. To read a call summary you've saved, you will need to open it in a word processing program like Microsoft Notepad or Microsoft Word. In the Open dialog box of the word processing application, select All Files from the Files of Type edit box. Go to the location where you saved the call summary, select your file, and then click Open.
What if I donÆt want to send one of the listed transactions?
Right-click an instruction to see a menu of options, including Don't Send On Next Call, which lets you exclude an instruction from the list. When you're ready to send the transaction, right-click the transaction and click Send On Next Call.
