Mscep.dll is a Certificate Services add-on ISAPI dynamic-link library (DLL) that enables enrollment for Cisco Systems, Inc. routers for IPSec authentication certificates from a Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Certificate Authority (CA) using the Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP).
Note
Mscep.dll is not installed during Resource Kit installation and can only be installed on an enterprise or stand-alone root certification authority (CA). To install it on an enterprise CA, you must be a member of the Enterprise Administrators group or the root Domain Administrators group and the CA should be in a separate certification hierarchy from all other CAs in your organization. To install onto a stand-alone CA, you need to be a member of the computer administrators group. For more information, see Installing Mscep.dll.
