Edit Known Accounts

The Edit Known Accounts feature lets you create, edit, or delete Windows NT account-password pairs that SmartScan has cracked or will attempt to crack during a scan session.

The Known Accounts file, described in ToolsOptionsFile Locations, contains a list of the account-password pairs used by SmartScan during a scan over your network.

The account-password pair includes:

• an account—a combination of a user and the user’s domain, and

• a password—known to be correct for the account (verified) or not known to be correct for the account (unverified).

Dialog Box Elements

Element	Description
User	The user name of the Windows NT account.
Domain	The user’s domain.
Password	The user’s password.
Verified	The status of the user’s password. indicates a password is verified and indicates a password is unverified.
Add	Add new account-password pairs to check for during a scan.
Edit	Lets you modify an account in the Known Accounts file.
Delete	Lets you remove an account from the Known Accounts file.
