Unzipping the downloaded file

  1. Double click on the file and Winzip or your zip application will open.  If you don't know where you saved the downloaded file, see the section below Finding the Chomper3D.zip file.  Once again if you do not have Winzip or a zip program you can download an evaluation version from www.winzip.com.  These directions are for Winzip because it is the oldest and most widely used zip program.
  2. Find the file called Setup.exe and double click on it.  This will extract the setup files to a temporary directory while you install the program, after installation is complete, the setup files are automatically deleted. (You may also extract the setup files to a directory yourself and run Setup)

Setup

  1. Read through the first three screens and press the Next button when finished with each.
  2. The Choose Destination Location screen asks for the directory name to where you want Chomper3D installed.  The default is C:\Program Files\Chomper3D.  If you want a different installation directory press the Browse button and select the desired directory through the Choose Directory window.  After selecting the directory in the browse window press OK and then the Next button.
  3. In the next screen select where on the Start Menu you would like the Chomper3D shortcut.  Again press the Next button and check the next screen for the correct settings.  Click the Next  button.
  4. Wait for the files to copy and the Setup Complete box to show up.  Check the box if you would like to read the readme.txt file then press Finish.  The readme contains almost the same information as in these help files, so you may want to skip it.
  5. You are now done, play by going to the start menu and going to where you installed the shortcut, by default it is stored in Start > Programs > Chomper3D and select the Chomper3D shortcut.

Finding the Chomper3D.zip file

  1. Open Windows Explorer from the Start menu Programs folder and go to the directory where you saved the file.
  2. If you do not remember where you saved the c3d_beta.zip file, go to the Start menu Find folder and select the Files or Folders option.
  3. In the Names text box type c3d_beta.zip and change the Look In box to My Computer.
  4. Press the Find Now button and wait for the file to appear.  If the file does not show up in the box then you need to download it again and save it to your hard drive.
