To configure the Player to play multichannel Windows Media files

1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Devices tab.
2. Double-click Speakers, and then click Advanced.

The Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog box appears.

3. Under Speaker settings, click Advanced, and then click the type of surround sound speaker setup that you have (for example, 5.1 surround sound speakers).

Notes

• To play back multichannel audio, you must have a sound card and speakers that support multichannel audio.
• Multichannel audio is only available on select versions of Windows. For more information, see Special features.
