To configure the Player to play multichannel Windows Media files
- On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Devices tab.
- Double-click Speakers, and then click Advanced.
The Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog box appears.
- Under Speaker settings, click Advanced, and then click the type of surround sound speaker setup that you have (for example, 5.1 surround sound speakers).
Notes
- To play back multichannel audio, you must have a sound card and speakers that support multichannel audio.
- Multichannel audio is only available on select versions of Windows. For more information, see Special features.
