Global settings

This window is accessible from the startup page, just select the last option of the list.

Internet update check:

If you check Internet will be interrogated on a days basis to find and download newer BlindRead versions.

The button does an immediate upgrade checking over the net.

NOTE:
* An internet connection has to be established
* No information is sent during the check update process

Home site:

The address of our home site is http://www.blindwrite.com
You can click on this address to open your web browser.

Sounds:

A sound can be played by BlindRead, once the extraction has finished.
Check to enable the sound playing.

Directly type the WAV file to play, or browse for it by clicking the button.
Verify the sound by clicking the button.

Choose / Test the CD access layer:

We're in the "BlindRead heart".
Here you'll select the driver which controls your CD units.


You have the choice between:
- The "VSO Driver" driver which has been written specially for BlindRead\BlindWrite (it's recommended to use this driver).
- Other drivers or ASPI layers.

Now we'll verify that your units have been recognized.
Click on the button which corresponds to the driver you have chosen.

• If you have chosen the "Patin-Couffin" driver, you'll obtain a window like this one:
  
  
  
• If you have chosen another driver than "VSO Driver", you'll obtain a window like this one:
  

In one of these 2 windows you should see all your CD units (CD\DVD reader, CD writer) regardless of the bus type (IDE, SCSI, //, FireWire, USB, ...).
When doing a right click on your units, you have access to some system commands (open\close the tray ....) as you can see above.

Then click on "Ok" twice, to confirm your choice.
Click on "Next" to return to the startup page.
