To enable volume leveling
- On the View menu, point to Settings, and then click Crossfading and Auto Volume Leveling.
- In the Settings pane, click the Turn volume leveling on link, if necessary.
Notes
- The volume leveling feature functions by reading a volume leveling value in a Windows Media or MP3 file and then adjusting playback volume accordingly. The feature only supports files that are in Windows Media or MP3 format and that contain a volume leveling value.
- When you copy a track from a CD, this version of the Player automatically calculates a volume leveling value and adds the information to the resulting Windows Media or MP3 file. Because previous versions of the Player did not calculate volume leveling values, you may have files on your computer that do not contain these values. For more information, see To add volume leveling values to files.
- To hide the Crossfading and Auto Volume Leveling settings, click the Close button in the Settings pane.
