Preparing Your Drives (Windows only)
There are two types of disk drives defined by the Windows operating system:
| |
Basic — Disk drives allow disks to be divided into partitions. This
type of drive is supported by Avid.
|
| |
Dynamic — Disk drives allow disks to be divided into volumes. Disk
drives must be Dynamic if you want to stripe, mirror, or use disks in
the RAID style.
|
To use Avidáediting software on your system, your drives need to be partitioned and formatted properly. Partitioning allows you to divide a drive into more than one section if needed, and formatting places a file system on each partition.
