Connecting Serial and MIDI Port Devices
Avid systems support the connection of two different MIDI fader controllers (fader controller) and a Yamaha 01V mixer (01V mixer). The fader controllers and the 01V mixer connect to the MIDISPORT 2x2 USB-to-MIDI converter attached to the USB ports, while the jog/shuttle wheel connects to a serial port using an RS-232 to RS-422 serial adapter. The two fader controllers are the JL Cooper FaderMaster Pro and the JL Cooper MCS-3000X. Avid supports recording automation gain using the MIDI features of the 01V mixer.
