Capturing On-the-Fly
Capture/Log Mode button
To capture on-the-fly:
1.  Click the Capture/Log Mode button in the Capture tool until the CAP icon appears. The Capture tool is ready to capture.
2.  (Option) Click the triangular opener in the Capture tool to display the Name and Cmnt (Comment) text boxes, if you plan to enter clip names or comments during capturing.
3.  Use the deck controls in the Capture tool to locate the position on the tape where you want to start capturing.
4.  Click the Play button and when the deck gets up to speed, click the Capture button.
  Make sure you have cleared any previous marks so that the deck does not begin cueing to the previous location.
5.  While the system is capturing, you can type a clip name in the Name text box. Press the Tab key after typing a clip name to enter comments about the clip.
6.  Click the Pause button at any time to pause play. You can also stop the capture procedure by clicking the Trash button in the Capture tool. The clip is discarded.
7.  To stop capturing and enter the OUT point of the clip:
  Click the Capture button.
  Press the Esc key.
The system creates a new clip in the bin.
  There is a slight delay of several frames after you manually select a spot to start and to stop capturing. Therefore, use this procedure when you don't need precise beginning and end points in your clip.
