Custom functions
To create a new function, click on "New" and enter a descriptive text for the new function.
Though a new function is not automatically available as a button in the application, you have to set a glyph and/or the caption for the new button now. A preview of the button is seen on the upper right side of this page.
There are four kinds of custom functions available: Text insertion, Searching, Compound functions and Execution
Text insertion
This function will insert the defined text at the current caret position. If text is selected when using such a function. The text in the left box is inserted before, the text in the right box is inserted after the selected text.
Searching
This function lets you set a pre-defined search operation for quick use at a later point.
Compound function
This function lets you apply a whole series of other functions. To do this select the desired function on the left side and add them to list on the right side.
Execution
This function lets you execute an external program from within 40tude HTML. Set the path to the file to be executed and set optional command line parameters. Note that "%1" can be used to pass the filename of the document you are currently editing to another program.
Note that you need to click on "Apply" after changing or newly defining a custom function.
To create a button for a function defined here, refer to "Custom buttons".
