Basic InformationThe Czech Association for Geoinformation (CAGI) is a civil professional association (created under The Association of Citizens Act, Code of 1990) of the natural and legal persons working in the sphere of geoinformational systems in the Czech Republic. The intention of founding The Czech Association for Geoinformation (CAGI) is result of partial activities of many years’ duration in this area. A wide spectrum of individuals and organizations who created a wider preparatory board took a responsibility for different phases of CAGI preparation. After the first steps of preparations the policy-statement was published and circulated in November 1996. A parallelly released bill of statutes (created under The Association of Citizens Act) has been presented after further and wider discussions in final form to The Ministry of the Interior to register CAGI, which was put into effect on March 26, 1997. The establishing plenary session of CAGI was convened at June 12, 1997. There was approved a series of documents, the authorities of CAGI were elected and the participants in the establishing plenary session became founding members. The activity of the association for the coming period will follow the approved Programme of CAGI in which the main directions of the further work are defined. The activity of members can markedly contribute to the expansion of subjects that the CAGI occupies itself with through its organizational articles. The mission and the aims of the activities of CAGI are defined in policy-statement of CAGI and in Programme of CAGI for the period of 1997-98. |
