The Dam - Orlicka prehrada
a suitable place for an all-day trip. The dam is located 15 km east of Pφsek, is accessible by train, bus, car or bicycle.
The company Quarter operates the shipping transport during the season - either regular transport or it is possible to rent a ship.

Orlik Castle
was built in the second half of the 13th century as a royal fortress and today has a neo-Gothic appearance, acquired after the great fire of 1802. In the castle there is a unique collection of historical weapons.

Zvikov Castle
is the work of the same builders who constructed the castles of Pφsek and MyÜenec or the stone bridge in Pφsek.
The oldest preserved building in the complex is the Markomanka tower at the corner of the inner castle.
In summer the programme also includes exhibitions, performances of historical fencing, concerts and the Zvφkov Summer Theatre Festival.

Milevsko
well known for the largest Romanesque building in South Bohemia: the Premonstratensian monastery with the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin and the cemetery of St. Giles Church. In the monastery garden there is an exhibition of sculptures from recent years of the Milevsko Granite Symposia.

Albrechtice nad Vltavou
a picturesque village on the outskirts of the Pφsek Hills with the small Romanesque Church of St. Peter and Paul which hides one of the most important groups of Romanesque paintings - a monumental composition on the theme of the Last Supper. The wall of the adjacent cemetery is interesingly divided by arcades decorated with paintings by FrantiÜek Mikula and verses by the local priest Vφt Cφza dating from 1841 - 1854.

Mysenec
a village with the unique Gothic parish church of St. Gallus, with a Romanesque vestry dating from the end of the 12th century. On a rise in the village there are the remains of an early Gothic castle whose history is connected to the construction of the castles in Pφsek and Zvφkov.
Not far from MyÜenec, on the bank of the Blanice river, is the Renaissance fortress KlokoΦφn.

Putim
Putim was first mentioned as early as the end of the 11th century. The Church of St. Lawrance with its preserved ribbed vaulting dominates the village.
This picturesque village which became famous thanks to the figure of the Good Soldier èvejk is a place of high spirits and of course good beer.

Sudomer
a village where you can visit the monument commemorating the battle in which Jan ₧i₧ka of Trocnov and his troops defeated the troops of the iron-clad lords on March 25th, 1420. A granite statue of Jan Äi₧ka, the work of the sculptor Emanuel J. Kodet from 1925, was erected on the bank of èkared² Pond near the village of Mlad∞jovice and dominates the whole area.

Kestrany
Near Kest°any there is a unique pair of well-preserved fortresses dating from the Middle Ages. Three fortresses were originaly founded within a single village. The upper fortress was built as early as the second half of the 13th century. The lower fortress dates back to the 15th century. At the end of Middle Ages it was converted into a brewery and no longer served as a residence. We have little information about the third fortress, but it was most probably remodelled as a Baroque castle in the mid- 17th century. Unfortunately, the castle is in very poor condition at present.

Protivin
a town which was a former residence of the Schwarzenberg family. The originally Gothic building from the 14th century underwent many Renaissance and Baroque remodellings. The main square is dominated by St. Elizabeth┤s Church from mid- 17th century together with the curate┤s room and hospital. The history of Protivφn is shown in the exhibition of the Protivφn Minument.
At present Protivφn is a town of beer. It is home to one of the largest and best breweries in South Bohemia - the brewery Platan Protivφn.
