Is there a difference between the Sound Blaster Live! Platinum sold in Americas and the rest of the world?

In the Americas, Sound Blaster Live! Platinum ships with Live! Drive. In some parts of the world, Sound Blaster Live! Platinum may instead be shipped with Live! Drive II, which is basically the Live! Drive with additional optical S/PDIF input and output connectors; and a pair of RCA/Coaxial Auxiliary Input (Left & Right)

Live!Ware 3.0 is already included in the new series of Sound Blaster Live!'s - Platinum, MP3+, X-Gamer and Player. There is no need for you to download nor purchase Live!Ware 3.0.

The Live!Task Guide plays a useful role in offering you tips to quickly get you up-and-running with any task you want to perform. There is also a dynamically updated news bar at the bottom of Live!Task which will inform you of any new web or software updates that Creative may have.

During the installation of Live!Ware 3.0 (Web), I am prompted for joystick drivers, which cannot be found. What should I do?

This problem occurs only in Windows 98 (2nd Edition) with ACPI enabled. Click the Skip File button when prompted for the drivers' location and continue with the installation. You may have to do this twice.

What will happen to the existing Environmental Audio (EA) and Super-Environment presets in my computer when I install Live!Ware 3.0?

Installing Live!Ware 3.0 will uninstall your existing software and will also remove all your present Environmental Audio (EA) and Super-Environment presets from your computer.

Do the following before you install Live!Ware3.0 if you want to keep your existing:

  1. Click Start -> Programs -> Creative -> Sound Blaster Live! -> AudioHQ.
  2. In the AudioHQ window, click the Environmental Audio icon to start the EA applet.
  3. In the Environment box, select the EA preset that you want to export, and then click the Export button.
  4. Save the preset in a temporary folder on your Desktop.
  5. Repeat Step 3 to Step 4 until all presets you want are saved.
  6. Install Live!Ware 3.0.
  7. Import the saved presets (.eap, .ea2) using the EA applet.

Super-Environment presets:

  1. Click Start -> Programs -> Creative -> Sound Blaster Live! -> Surround Mixer.
  2. In Surround Mixer, select the Task and Preset that you want to save.
  3. On the top-right of Surround Mixer, click the Preset Options button, and then select Export Preset.
  4. Save the preset in a temporary folder on your Desktop.
  5. Repeat Step 2 to Step 4 until all presets you want are saved.
  6. Install Live!Ware 3.0.
  7. Import the saved presets (.sea) using Surround Mixer.
