On the left of the dialog box, there are items related to the reading text:
You have three choices here. If you entered a reading text into JBC, then you will probably want to go with the first choice, and use that reading text. Alternatively, you might not wish to include a text (option 2). The third option enables you to include an external HTML file as your text. If you choose this option, you will be able to use the Browse button to locate the file. When JBC uses an external HTML file, no changes are made to the source file; instead, the file is read into JBC, altered slightly, and saved with a different name. Your original source file will remain the same.
If you do include a reading text, you may choose to include a timer on the page. When the time set on the timer has expired, the text will disappear. Note that the user can easily view the text again if necessary by pressing the "Back" button in the browser; the timer is intended only as a guide on reading speed for language students.
On the right of the Export to Web dialog box, you will see some more options:
When you create a new quiz, you may wish to change the information displayed in the top right frame (the "Welcome" frame) or in the Help file which is displayed when the user presses the "Help" button on the page. You will learn how to do this later in the tutorial. If you have entered new Welcome and Help information, you will need to generate new Welcome and Help files. However, if you have already created these files when making a previous, similar quiz, then there is no purpose in generating them again, and you can select the second option.
As you select different options in this dialog box, you will notice that the information in the Summary box changes. The purpose of this box is to tell you exactly what will happen when you press the Export button at the bottom of this dialog box. A JBC quiz may consist of between three and six HTML files, depending on the options you have selected.
The bottom of the dialog box looks like this:
The status bar shows the name of the currently loaded configuration file on the left (you will learn more about this later in the tutorial in Configuring the output), and help information is displayed on the right as you move your mouse over components of the dialog box.
When you press the Export button, JBC will ask you to specify a filename to be used for saving the Web page files. The filename you specify will be used as the root filename, and other filenames will be derived from it. For example, if you specify "myquiz", then the program may create these files:
