To open Outpost Firewall's start-up options window:
1. Go to Options menu
2. Click General.
In the StartUp area of the dialog is where you can choose the startup mode for Outpost Firewall.
There are three startup modes:
ò Normal (loads Outpost Firewall automatically at boot-up and displays its icon in the System Tray).
ò Background (Outpost Firewall will run in invisible mode, without its system tray icon or any of its dialog windows).
ò Disable (Outpost Firewall will not run automatically at startup).
Background mode is provided for two reasons: to save system resources and for a parent or Systems Administrator to block unwanted traffic or content in a way that's completely hidden from a user.
