Un bolsero amarillo con la cabeza, la cola y las alas negras. Tamaño: 19-24 cm.; peso: 31-52 g. Audio (G. Lasley). Especie nativa de América Central, con pocos registros en Puerto Rico en estado silvestre. De hecho, ya que la especie se mantiene en cautiverio, los avistamientos de esta especie en estado silvestre bien pudieran representar individuos recién escapados y no aves que nacieron en libertad (avistamiento en la antigua base Ramey, 12 de junio de 1995).

TAXONOMÍA: PASSERIFORMES; ICTERIDAE. Antiguamente llamado en inglés "Black-headed Oriole".
