Un playero pequeño de perfil algo alargado y rabadilla blanca, visible al volar. Tamaño: 15-18 cm.; peso: 30-60 g. Anida en Canadá en la tundra cerca del océano Glacial Ártico, invernando en la América del Sur meridional.
