A noisy, medium-sized black bird with a red eye. The white feathers at the base of the neck are rarely visible. Length: 48-51 cm. Range: Hispaniola. Formerly common on Puerto Rico, but hunted to extinction in the middle of the last century. A candidate for reintroduction into Puerto Rico. TAXONOMY: CORVIDAE |
