: I've been to good McD's, and I've been to McD's that suck (the local Wal-Mart McD is a good example of the latter). As for your anti-meat sentiments, you need iron. Tell me of a better source except maybe Geritol. Furthermore, animals kill each other for their food source, so why are McD's actions any different? Iron is absolutely NO PROBLEM in a vegetarian diet. Ever heard of
spinach? Great source right there, as well as other greens, of which
many have more iron than your beloved animal flesh. In fact, there
is NO sacred vitamin that we need meat for. But we can do without
cholesterol, which does not occur in plant foods, and saturated fats
are only in vegetable oils and nuts outside of the most common
culprit, you guessed it, meat. And yes, there are animals that
are carnivores- that is their NATURAL DIET. They have different
teeth and different digestive tracts than that of animals who were
meant to eat a plant-based diet, which includes humans, and our
close vegetarian cousins in the primate world, chimpanzees and gorillas.
: And finally, I'm inclined to agree with the others who have replied to your post. I've met more than one person with your type of attitude. You do sound like someone who wouldn't be happy working in any type of environment. How many people are on your list of blame for your problems?
Listen, I don't care about your judgments. Fact is, none of you
know me at all. I happen to now work in the telecommunications
industry where I am happily employed and productive to boot.
I don't keep problems on my back- I had to go back in my mind
to really remember some of the crap I put up with at McD's. It
doesn't mean I didn't have good times with friends I made.
It's silly how you people don't get it- This company makes
obscene profits and it should give better pay and treatment to
its workers. And yes, from an environmental standpoint, I do
think Burger King is probably the worst offender- but McD's is not
far behind. It's not just beef from what was the former rainforest-
think about all the acres of land devoted to growing crops to be fed
to animals who are then one day slaughtered so some of us fat cats
brainwashed to eat a daily diet of meat can chow down on a fatty,
cholesterol and hormone-laden, not-so-nutritive piece of flesh?
It's estimated the same acre of land that goes to feed one cow and
then one beef-eating-human over one year- could go to feed 20 people
eating crops directly from that same land. And not to mention the
waste from the cows washing downstream and getting into the water
supplies to the cities.
Of course, none of this will even make one of you beef-addicted
mindless conformists question the validity of your unhealthful ways.
Are some of you McDonald's workers hired by the company to push
their opinions on this website? Just a thought.......
