It seems fairly obvious to me that McDonalds uses young workers for a
number of basic reasons

1. They are usually keen and willing to do many things
adult workers may not;

2. They are less likely to have the skills or
confidence to stand up to the boss;

3. They cost less to employ (in Australia they pay junior
rates which are a % of the adult rate). Is it any
coincidence that people find their hours cut back as
they get older?

4. They are less likely to join a trade union.

5. They are more likely to lack their own strong value system
(this makes them identify with McDonalds goals more easily)

6. The Company is able to more easily weed out those who don't
fit the Corporate image and accept the Corporate goals.
These are the people you say have "bad attitudes".

Your comments appear to me to support these points. ]
You have accepted the Corporate Vision and feel part of
the 'family'. But whatever you do don't join a union or
you can kiss your job goodbye.
