: : I was happy to see McDonalds closing an outlet. This dosen't happen near often enough. Recent falling sales (befor the last quarter they had 6 consequetive quarters will lower North American same store sales) suggest that more closings will happen. Lets all hope so.: Harley and Mr. Sprout The Imposter: The both of you need to think these things a tad bit more before you post! If the entire McD's operation were to close, think of the franchise owners whose investments would be in the toilet! Even the still-successful franchises would have their lifeline cut! What about the employees: crew, supervisors, and managers? Even "shit pay" is better than none.
: And what about the office and data processing staff at Corporate and Hamburger University? This meaning the secretaries, billing department staff, accounts payable staff, the computer programmers, and operators. In short, you would have numerous people in the USA, Canada, UK, and the rest of the planet out of work.
: And you people claim to be SUPPORTIVE of the employees?
If people stop patronizing McDonalds, the dollars they would have spent would surely be used elsewhere (hopefully in a more earth friendly way). This would no doubt lead to increased employment in these new areas of spending. Surely Mike, as a bank employee, you have some basic knowledge of economics. Would you say that people should keep smoking to support employment in the tobacco industry? Should we all start using drugs to support the poor trying to make a living in South America? Advocating socially responsible spending has NOTHING to do with employment.
As for the "imposter" thing, I did not make that post. Do you reaaly think that someone who was posting such things would admit to it under their own name? After reviewing the pattern of "imposter" posts, and dates of them and other posts, I'm starting to wonder who really is playing games - MIKE. It looks like someone with a lot of time on their hands, maybe someone who is seeing things slow down at work lately, maybe somewhere like... a bank?
