I just love these typical responses from the minds of American conservatives. You know so little of the past yet try to sound so real. From the sounds of it I would guess that you were raised "corporate" and learned to believe and not to think. Don't fret. Many of us have been also and have overcome the business propaganda that permeates consumer society. Maybe someday you will also.Perhaps you have fallen into the doublethink trap of Libertarianism and think that big business is your best buddy. Who knows? You have to learn to question your own debating style but not before you find out one thing about the labour movement. They're the folks who brought you the weekend.
As for your last statement about unions goes. I don't see much chance of it becoming obselete or gone forever. Despite your doomsayings you will find that the labor movement has gotten up and fallen down only to get up again. That may not seem so apparent to you now but as long as the Republicans and Democrats dominate political life in America in the interests of big business there's going to be a real awakening that you can't imagine.
