Human vs. Animal

Bigger animals prey on smaller animals. It's the law of the Jungle.
Human beings live in a civilized society. Human beings are the most
advanced lifeform known to civilisation. Human beings can "think".
But yet....Human beings prey on animals. How does that differentiate
Human beings from Animals?? If humans can kill animals why do we have
laws that prevent humans from killing each other? Can we consider
ourselves civilised or is it just a jungle out there?
