True, meat eaters are not necessarily predators, in the sense that
they may not "search" for animal food. The point is that most
plants that eat flesh do so due to a specific lack of nutrient in
the soil in which they grow, usually nitrogen. They are thus
"opportunistic" predators...I think that humans are "opportunistic"
predators as well. But they are not "designed" to be predators in the
same sense that a hyena or tiger is. Our bodies are not particularly
well designed to process meat. Just look around at all the cancers
and heart diseases caused by excessive meat consumption, if you
doubt this.
