> meat consumption, if you doubt this.Point taken, but I believe the operative terms here are "not particularly" and "excessive." In other words, humans (especially Westerners) tend to eat more meat than is healthy, and we could stand to eat more vegetables.
I agree that given our diminishing resources, meat is not a very efficient way of meeting the dietary demands of the growing population. I guess I just have a semantic objection to the idea that eating meat is somehow unnatural. "Unhealthy, if excessive," I can agree with.
