: Hi Terry,: Most the vegetarians I know wouldn't preach to you for eating meat. For heaven's sake don't flatter yourself - do you think I'm at all interested in what you eat? Personally I have always tried to avoid getting into this "debate" because, quite frankly, it is boring going over the same old ground all the time. What I have noticed though is that more often than not I am verbally attacked by meat-eaters when they hear that I'm veggie. That is , they usually start these "debates". Unfortunately I take the bait most times and give as good as I get. I think the reason meat-eaters start these arguments is because deep down they know that what they are doing is wrong and they feel guilty about it. The way they lash out is sort-of back-against-the-wall stuff.
: Another reason I think that meat-eaters feel guilty is whenever somebody I'm in conversation with finds out that I'm veggie they seem to have this need to tell me something like "Oh - but I don't eat a lot of meat." or "I don't eat red meat." or try to justify their diet in some way. Clearly they are feeling guilty about eating meat! I couldn't really give two hoots what they eat. I find myself having to comfort them and tell them their diet is OK and each to his own and such-like.

p.s. to tell you something why would i be guilty????i love the taste of a good burger or maybe a half hog( ribs)oh yeah just thinking about it now, yum!!!!how do you expect us to eat otherwise???? you can't just grow vegetables(some moron just posted that)it would deplete the topsoil at a rate twice as fast as we are depleting it now...btw we didn't make it to the top of the food chain to eat carrots, i mean you aren't out there complaining about the annimals eating other animals, hey we are part of the food chain and were made to eat meat.
