The Search for Freedom Manual Addendum
--------------------------------------
This document contains last-minute revisions to the game which are not
accurately described in the regular manual.
09/08/95 v1.2
--------------
- virtually ALL flickering removed, and full paging support implemented for
ALL video cards giving a much more impressive view
- when distributing items, characters which can use current item are
hi-lighted
- when buying items/viewing inventory, items which may NOT be used by the
character are marked with a star (*)
- fixed bug near endgame with 'you lose' message
- fixed minor bugs which caused your damage to increase beyond the stated
possible values, for characters with very high strengths
- enhanced overall friendliness of the game a bit
- Search stays on after combats, if on before
- some other small bugs, probably unnoticed to most, removed
- fixed create character icon bug
08/17/95 v1.12
---------------
- game no longer crashes if party NPC is last to die in combat (few if any
will have noticed this)
- yet faster screen updates in town/dungeon when paging support is disabled
07/03/95 v1.11
---------------
- monsters no longer retrace their steps, making them somewhat more cunning
(or less cunning?)
- faster screen updates in town/dungeon when paging support is disabled
05/09/95 v1.1
--------------
- the load/save game menus also show the date and time within each saved
game
- the save game menu allows you to simply press Enter for the name of the
saved game in order to default to the previous name of the game saved
in that slot, if any
- the View Character Menu has two additional options: Next and Previous,
which respectively cycle through the "Character Sheets" of party members
forwards and backwards
- the Automap feature may be accessed while in Move mode by pressing '?'
- pressing return on an input with nothing entered is equivalent to pressing
the Esc key where applicable
- the default target when aiming a spell, arrow, etc. in combat depends on
what you are doing to the target; for a heal-type spell it will default
to either the first living party member or the last one targeted, while
for anything else, it will default to the first living monster or else
the last one targeted
- slightly faster redrawing of screen in combat/outdoors mode
- many minor bugs corrected thanks to all the keen players out there
