- The soaked and dirty stuffed dog walked
- through the streets of Birmingham again. He
- had been wandering around in torment for
- some time. A failure in everything. He was
- on his last legs when he suddenly had an
- inspiration - a vision of hope for a new
- beginningÿ when he could one more be what he
- had been so long ago!
-
- Had it really been that long since he had
- been a normal stuffed doggie with normal
- stuffed-doggie like problems? He turns a
- corner and enters the library.
-
- At the information desk he asks where he
- could attend a meeting of the local AA.
- Maybe there he would find an answer.
-
-
-
-
- They direct him to where they meet and he
- enters the hall. People are all sitting
- chattingÿ and facing a platform to the
- front.
-
- He is taken by the paw to an empty seat
- by a tall man with a beard. When the
- meeting begins he is asked to stand up and
- announce himself. Doggie pulls himself up
- rather unsteadily butÿ gaining courage from
- his bearded neighbour's smileÿ speaks outÿ
- his little eepy noise bold and true: "My
- name is Doggieÿ and I've broken down on the
- Birmingham Ring Road".
