- populace dies.

- The Enterprise is sent to the planet Lorca to open diplomatic
- relations between the planet and the Federation. The people of
- this beautiful world wear masks to donate rank and station.
- Picard and an away team set off to find the wearer of the Wisdom
- mask, for whomever wears it is the ruler of all the planet. When
- they lose contact with the Enterprise, Riker heads a search party
- for the missing Captain, unknowing that it is all a scheme of a
- madman who wants the Wisdom mask for himself and with it, Lorca.

- A Series of hostile attacks on the planet Tenara, bring the
- Enterprise and the Centurian to the planet's aid. Captain Sejanus
- of the Centurian believes the only way to stop the M'dok's
- attacks is to fight fire with fire. Picard believes otherwise.
- The people of Tenara must decide which path to take. But unknown
- to them their fate has already been decided. One of the
- Centurian's crew plans to provoke war with the M'dok.

- Kirlos, an artificial world that has become home to many races

- away team are imprisoned. Meanwhile on Kirlos, ancient
- underground machinery begins to stir, priming the most powerful
- destructive force ever.

- Teller Conlon goes missing and is accused of the theft. Riker

- madness. They find themselves up against a killer whom murder is
- only the beginning to revenge.

- An old friend of Picard's, leading Exologist, Eric Baldwin, comes
- aboard the Enterprise asking Picard for his help. During the
- course of his experiments, Baldwin has made many enemies across
- the galaxy, and he can think of only one way to safety and that
- is to purge all computer files of his existence. One of Wesley's
- computer experiments begins to go wrong as his Holodeck
- creations, the boogeymen, begin to take over the Enterprise's
- computer systems and cause chaos throughout the ship.

- The Enterprise is requested to house the marriage of two people
- from feuding planets in a hope to bring peace between the two
- worlds. Delegates from the Federation worlds begin to beam
- aboard, and one is none other than Lwaxana Troi herself. Things
- begin to get worse when Q turns up to show an interest in the
- wedding procedings, and ends up in a close relationship with
- Lwaxana, bestowing her with the power of the Q.

- 19. PERCHANCE TO DREAM by Howard Weinstein

- On a routine survey mission to Domarus 4, Data, Troi and Wesley
- are taken captive in their shuttle by a race of beings known as
- the Tenirans. When negotiating the release of his crew members,
- Picard sees the shuttle disappears in a blaze of light. Then
- suddenly Picard disappears in the same way and finds himself on
- the planets surface along with the captain of the Teniran ship.
- The two must work together as one as they come across a being
- with the power to change a world or obilterate it.

- 20. SPARTACUS by T L Mancour

- The Enterprise answers the distress call of the ship Freedom,
- belonging to a race known as Vemlans. Only too happy to assist in
- the repairs of the craft, the Enterprise finds herself in the
- middle of a whole fleet of ships from Vemlan that tell Picard
- that the Freedom is crewed by slaves and are the property of
- Vemlan, and must be returned. Jerun, the Captain of the Freedom
- pleads with Picard for their freedom. But Picard is torn between
- his conscience and the dictates of the Prime Directive. If the
- slaves are not handed over the fleet of alien ships will destroy
- the Enterprise.

- 21. CHAINS OF COMMAND by Bill McCay and Eloise Flood

- While exploring a group of devastated Class M worlds in a remote
- sector of space, the Enterprise crew are shocked to discover a
- glacial world populated by human slaves. When the slaves begin to
- revolt against their captors, Picard and his crew are forced to
- watch and sympathise with their struggle for freedom. When the
- revolt is a success, Picard learns that the slaves and their
- masters were being controlled by an alien culture known as the
- Tseetsk, who learning of the revolt are returning to reclaim
- their property. Needing the help of the Enterprise, the former
- slaves capture Captain Picard and Counsellor Troi in an attempt
- to force the hand of Riker to help in their new time of need.

- 22. IMBALANCE By V.E. Mitchell

- When the reclusive race of insectoid beings, the Jarada, begin to
- express a desire to join the Federation, Picard and the
- Enterprise are ordered to negotiate the exchange of Ambassadors.
- Upon reaching their planet, the Jarada begin to act in a very
- uncharacteristc friendly manner as they invite members of the
- crew down to their world. Cmdr. Riker and his away team are soon
- cut off from the Enterprise, which is suddenly attacked by the
- inhabitants of the planet. Why? Picard must find out the reason
- for the attacks and abduction of his crew members before it's too
- late for his ship and his friends on the surface.

- The planet Selva, a lush colony world settled by a hardy group
- of humans who found the planet already inhabited by a small gang
- of young Klingons. When violence erupts between the two groups,
- Captain Picard and the U.S.S. Enterprise are sent in to assist.
- Worf leads a landing party while the Enterprise is called away on
- another mission. Worf and his party find that old hatreds and
- prejudices between Humans and Klingons are revived, and the
- settlers are out for blood. Now Worf must prevent a horrible
- massacre, before all of them fall prey to Selva's deadly secret,
- and raging fury.

- After 200 hundred years of civil war the planet Oriana is dying.
- Most of the surface vegetation is gone and the air almost
- unbreathable. Now the 2 warring factions want to talk peace.
- Captain Picard and his crew are sent to help with the
- negotiations. The Enterprise is called away on an emergency
- rescue mission leaving Picard, Worf and Troi behind on the
- planet. Soon they learn that the people of Oriana would rather
- finish the conflict than talk peace. Picard is accused of murder
- and placed under arrest, leaving Worf and Troi to prove his
- innocence and carry on the negotiations for peace.

- While answering a distress call, the Enterprise becomes infected
- by a mysterious alien life form which begins to fuse and become a
- part of the ship itself. Starfleet has no choice but to order the
- destruction of the Enterprise before this life form can spread
- itself throughout the Federation and infect not only other ships
- but Starbases and whole planets. With his crew scheduled to be
- split and transfered to other ships, Picard races to formulate a
- plan to save not only his ship but the Federation as well.
