- 3,DISTRIBUTION INFORMATION
- 4,Revision 5.4
-
- Unlike most other disk-mags, THE FINAL FRONTIER is NOT Public Domain.
- However, the disks are freely distributable, as long as the following
- conditions are observed (these apply as from January 1993).
-
-
- 1. This mag MUST be distributed in it's entirety - no files,
- software, art or music must appear on disk magazines,
- compilations, magazine cover-disks, slideshows, animation disks,
- music collections or ANY other form of software without prior
- WRITTEN permission.
-
- 2. All the disks for each issue must be distributed together, i.e.
- Issue 1 must be spread as a two-disk set and NOT as single disks.
-
- 3. The mag must not be distributed in any form, altered or
- otherwise, other than those released by INFINITE FRONTIERS (apart
- from Issue 2 which was released under the "Power House" banner).
- Consider ALL other versions as PIRATE copies and they should be
- avoided at all costs. Distribution on Bulletin Boards is
- permitted as long as ALL the files/disk structure remains intact.
- However, this magazine must NOT be uploaded to any bulletin
- boards run by the demo group, Power House.
-
- 4. The magazine must NOT be converted to any other computer or
- released as a paper zine without WRITTEN permission. If you do so
- without our permission, you are breaking the law and we will be
- forced to take legal action.
-
- 5. ALL the files on this magazine are copyright of INFINITE
- FRONTIERS and/or their respective authors. If you wish to use any
- of the art, music or articles etc. on any of your own disks or in
- any traditional paper fanzines, you must first obtain WRITTEN
- permission from INFINITE FRONTIERS. Please note that we ARE
- interested in allowing paper zines to reprint some material,
- possibly in the form of an article exchange system where you get
- some of our articles and we get some of yours!
-
- 6. The disks may NOT be distributed by the following PD libraries:-
-
- 3RD BASE PD - We have heard that your collection was established
- through theft and fraud.
-
- PD SOFT - Issue 1 stated quite clearly that it must not be sold
- for more than £2 a disk, but you still decided to ignore our
- restrictions and you sold the magazine for £2.50 a disk. You are,
- therefore, BANNED from selling all issues of THE FINAL FRONTIER,
- past, present and future and any other productions of INFINITE
- FRONTIERS.
-
-
- If you run any of the above and you would like to distribute this
- disk, contact me at the address below and maybe we can come to
- some arrangement.
-
-
- 7. PD Libraries:
- -------------
-
- As of Issue 4, we changed the way in which THE FINAL FRONTIER can
- be distributed by PD libraries, namely, there are different
- restrictions for each issue as follows:
-
- Issue 1
- -------
-
- This may be sold by any library as long as no more than £2 is
- charged per disk (inc. P&P) or no more than £1.50 in shops that
- sell PD or the equivalent in other currencies, the library is NOT
- on our "banned" list, all conditions listed above (1-6) are
- followed) AND that you send a copy of your catalogue/catalogue
- disk to us when you have added a description of THE FINAL
- FRONTIER to it.
-
- If you normally charge more than £2 per disk (£1.50 for shops)
- and would like to distribute this, please contact us first. We
- may want to operate a Licenceware-type scheme, similar to the one
- we use for issue 4 onwards.
-
- Issue 2
- -------
-
- The restrictions that apply to Issue 1 also apply to Issue 2.
- However, no library/shop may sell this issue unless they have
- purchased a copy of THE FINAL FRONTIER direct from the producers
- (for prices/ordering info, see the INFINITE FRONTIERS MAIL ORDER
- section) or they must have been sent a copy direct by the editor,
- Simon Plumbe. NO other member of INFINITE FRONTIERS can grant
- distribution rights to PD stockists.
-
- Issue 3
- -------
-
- The same as Issue 2.
-
- Issue 4 onwards
- ---------------
-
- From issue 4 onwards, TFF may not be sold by PD libraries/shops
- unless they are sold with our own custom "THE FINAL FRONTIER"
- disk labels on them. The price you sell TFF for will be entirely
- up to you, as long as one of our labels is attached to EACH disk.
-
- The labels are available from us for only £0.30 each, but we do
- ask that you must order a MINIMUM of TEN labels at a time (due to
- postage costs).
-
- By using this system (devised by Bjørn Lynne for his mag, AM/FM)
- we will receive a small income for EVERY copy of TFF sold, no
- matter who sells it. This way, it will help us to continue
- producing TFF for as long as possible without entering a state of
- financial ruin! Also, any libraries who end up stocking TFF #4
- onwards will also be allowed to make profit on every issue they
- sell.
-
- Please note that when you contact us to order labels, we would
- like to know how much you intend to sell TFF for, and how much
- you charge for "normal" PD disks (this won't affect our decision
- on whether to allow you to stock TFF though). Also, please state
- that you are ordering labels for use in your library, as we are
- also considering allowing readers to buy labels for their own
- personal copies of TFF.
-
- As far as obtaining an "original" copy of TFF, all dealers
- AUTHORISED to sell issues 4 onwards will receive all future
- issues free of charge as they are released. However, we do ask
- that you must still PURCHASE a copy of the current and any back
- issues you need direct from us at our usual prices (see the mail
- order section). However, all these originals will be customised
- to feature the name of your library on the opening copyright
- screen.
-
- However, all the above conditions (1-6) must be adhered to and we
- will still expect copies of your current catalogue disk featuring
- the relevant issues of THE FINAL FRONTIER.
-
-

- In the case of the shop sales, they purchase their sale copies
- direct from us and therefore every issue is sold with TFF labels.
-
- If you have purchased a copy of THE FINAL FRONTIER from a PD
- library that is NOT on the above list, please let us know. It may
- be as simple as that the library in question hasn't been added to
- the list yet. However, if there are any unauthorised libraries
- selling TFF, we want to know, so we can stop you, the reader,
- from being ripped off.
-
-
- 9. Stockists Wanted!
