  6. Aminet is the worlds largest software archive of freely distributable
  7. software for the Amiga range of computers. Access to the Aminet is usually
  8. via the Internet or through quartly released CD-Roms, leaving users with no
  9. modem or CD-player in the lurch, this is where we come in.

  11. On our Aminet catalogue we have content listings of 8 Aminet CD's that's a 
  12. whopping 8 Gigabytes (over 8000 disks) of software.

  17. You can pick up to 820K of programs per floppy disk, each program's size in
  18. K is given in the catalogue disk. 
  19. The cost of each floppy disk is just £1.00 with a minimum order of 5 disks. 
  20. Postage is 75p for any size order.
  21. An easy to use order form is provided with your Aminet catalogue disk.
  22. To obtain your Aminet cat disk please send us TWO first class stamps.

  27. When you recieve your Aminet archives you may be dismayed to learn that
  28. all the files are NOT runnable, you have to decompress them first, yukk!
  29. But this is why Aminet is so popular, you get 2-3 times more on a disk 
  30. this way. The compression used is called 'LHA' and the program you need
  31. to 'extract' the files from the archive is also called 'LHA'.
  32. LHA is supplied on the cat disk and a step by step guide on how to use it.
  33. What LHA actually does is roll a file or lots of files and drawers
  34. into a single file called an archive and compresses it to a fraction of the
  35. original files size.

  39. LHA,is quite scary first time you use it, but it is not that hard once you
  40. know what to do.
  41. A full step by step tutorial is provided on the Aminet cat disk on how
  42. to extract your archives. 
  43. If you get really stuck you can always give me a call, send me a letter
  44. (with an sae) or contact me by e-mail for help, though I am very busy so
  45. please keep it brief and to the point, this is why I have taken the trouble
  46. to write the help file on the cat disk, to save explaining the process
