  2.  THE DALEK INVASION OF EARTH.   Written by Terry Nation.   6 Episodes.

  8.  COMPANIONS:- Ian, Barbara and Susan.
  9.  
  10.   The TARDIS at last returns to London but it is over 100 years later than
  11.  when Ian and Barbara left. The city is strangely quiet and in a dilapidated
  12.  state with signs warning people not to dump bodies in the river. The TARDIS
  13.  is buried under a fall of rubble and the travellers find themselves in the
  14.  hands of zombie-like Robomen. As Ian makes a run for it, a Dalek emerges
  15.  from the Thames.
  16.   The Daleks plan to replace the Earth's core with a drive system, allowing
  17.  them to pilot the planet to any point in space and killing the world's
  18.  population at the same time.
  19.   The Doctor and company join up with an underground resistance movement
  20.  and ultimately use the Daleks own bomb to defeat them. As the Doctor
  21.  prepares the TARDIS for take off, he notices that Susan is torn between
  22.  staying with David Campbell, a resistance leader and going with him and the
  23.  others. He makes the decision for her, closing the TARDIS door before 
  24.  saying his goodbyes via the TARDIS scanner.
