- Floating Command Line for Windows 95/98/NT4
-
- This free utility is a floating command line that is always on top,
- and can be moved around the screen.
-
- To run, select FloatingCommandLine from your Start Menu.
-
- If you would like the program to run automatically when Windows starts,
- place a shortcut in your Startup folder.
-
- Now, when ever you want to enter a quick DOS command, simply type it in
- and press 'Enter'. 'Esc' will clear the text.
-
- TIP: After the command has run, the output window will close.
-
- If you want the window to stay open so that you can see any messages,
- preceed the command line with a ' (single quote) e.g. 'dir
-
- If you want to run a command that begins with a single quote, use two,
- e.g. to run a command called 'myfile.exe, use ''myfile.exe.
-
- This program is freeware. It may be used and distributed freely, as long
- as it is only distributed in it's origional compressed form.
- However, I retain the copyright.
-
- To remove it, use Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel.
-
- Note: This program requires the VB5 run-times to run. It is not included
- as it is a large file (1.3MB). If you have Windows 98, then you already
- have it. If you do not already have it, download it from
- http://support.microsoft.com/download/support/mslfiles/Msvbvm50.exe
- and put it in "C:\Windows\System".
-
- I make no guarantee that this is bug free. Use it entirely at your own risk.
- If you like the program, or if you have any suggestions for improvements,
- please take the time to drop me a line at the address below to say so.
