  2.                              A Sound Experience

  5.         Mention the words Carnegie Hall, and you automatically think of
  6. wonderful music. This is no exception. I had the pleasure to be invited to
  7. Carnegie Hall on, June 23, 1992, at The Weill Recital Hall, for "An Evening
  8. of Live and Synthesized Music."
  9.  
  10.         The live portion was provided by, Dr. Howard Cass and his
  11. Orchestra. The synthesized part was played by, The Omni Labs AudioMaster
  12. Sound Board using the MediaMaster Sound Standard. The MediaMaster Sound
  13. Standard is a joint venture by, Integrated Circuit Systems, Inc., and
  14. Advanced Strategies Corp. Harry Fox, President of ASC, was MC, with Edward
  15. Arnold, President and CEO of ICS, saying a few words.

  17.         The evening began at, 6PM, when we were treated to refreshments
  18. from the bar, and food to nosh on. It then proceeded into a two-level filled
  19. hall. We were treated to a comparison of the SoundBlaster Pro, AudioMaster,
  20. and live music. Listening to Beethoven, Mozart, Strauss, and Tchaikovsky
  21. made for a very pleasant way to relax. The music of Dr. Cass was superb.
  22. If you cannot afford to hire out Carnegie, or do not have enough room in
  23. your home, for Dr. Cass and Orchestra, then you should get the AudioMaster
  24. Card. It comes with several pieces of software. One of them is
  25. Band-in-a-Box, which is used by professional musicians in creating music.

  27.         SoundBlaster Pro was being compared to AudioMaster, it was like
  28. comparing a Ferrari and a Volkswagen. True both are cars, but the Ferrari
  29. is sleeker, smoother, and faster. The AudioMaster sat in with the band.
  30. AudioMaster played the drums in one set. Sitting there, with your eyes
  31. closed, you would not know that a drummer was not present. The sound was
  32. that good.

  34.         AudioMaster, with the MediaMaster Sound Standard, will work with
  35. Windows 3.1, DOS, and soon with OS/2 (drivers are being developed, and will
  36. be sent to all registered users free). There are several options that can
  37. be included with the card; a CD-ROM interface, RAM Expansion, and FM
  38. Synthesis Card.

  40.         I have to say this was a wonderful evening. Harry Fox, and all the
  41. other people involved, put on a class act, in a true New York City landmark.

  43.         A live orchestra in an acoustically correct auditorium, can never
  44. be replaced. However, AudioMaster is right there in comparison.
