  6. ~`Section 1  --  A general DEBUG edit for save-game files

  9. `From your DOS prompt, in the directory containing the .CHR save-
  10. `game file you want to edit, enter the following lines :-

  22. `If you  now load  the game back up, and restore your saved game,
  23. `you should find you have absolutely loads of money, maximum MECH
  24. `power, maximum speed, maximum armour, maximum stun res., maximum
  25. `PILOT power, maximum agility and maximum endurance!!!  Wow!!!

  29. ~`Section 2  --  Changing your robot type.
  30. ~`----------------------------------------

  32. `If you  want to  change what robot type you are, it's easy!! All
  33. `you need  to do  is save your game, then load the .CHR save-file
  34. `into a  hex-editor.  Now, simply go to offset $1B, and input the
  35. `byte number  from the list below, corresponding to the robot you
  36. `wish to  change to.   For  example, if you find in that byte C7,
  37. `then it  means the  robot is presently Jaguar.  You could change
  38. `this to CD, for example, and then it would become a Nova.

  40. `C0 = Flail
  41. `C1 = Shredder
  42. `C2 = Katana
  43. `C3 = Electra
  44. `C4 = Pyros
  45. `C5 = Thorn
  46. `C6 = Shadow
  47. `C7 = Jaguar  (default robot when you start a new tournament)
  48. `CD = Nova
  49. `CE = Chronos
  50. `CF = Gargoyle

  54. ~`Section 3  --  Some other HEX-Editor save-game edits.

  57. `Bytes 33,  34, and  35 affect your agility, power, and endurance
  58. `(I believe  in that  order, although  I'm not  sure).  While the
  59. `highest level  possible for  each of these attributes within the
  60. `game is  25, you  can actually  set it  far above the "maximum".
  61. `Try setting  byte 33 to AF, byte 34 to B0, and byte 35 to B1.  I
  62. `believe these  are the  absolute maximums.   Now  your character
  63. `will be  a virtual  god, being able to jump off the screen (do a
  64. `spring jump  for the  best effect!), inflict up to 192 points of
  65. `damage, and more.

  67. `Bytes 41,  42, 43  and 44 control the money.  Set them all to A0
  68. `for 2 BILLION DOLLARS!!!

  70. `Bytes 45,  46, and  47 control  the robot  colours.   (Try  this
  71. `combo, it's my favourite: D1, D0, D3)
