  5. Chris  Barrie has decided to leave RED
  6. DWARF,  appearing in only two episodes
  7. of  the seventh series which commences
  8. production  in  the  Summer.

  12. How  the character of Arnold Rimmer is
  13. to be written out is not yet known but
  14. Barrie  in a recent interview stated -
  15. "Been    there,   done   that!"   when
  16. discussing  why he was leaving.  It is
  17. widely  believed  he  was dissatisfied
  18. with  the  quality  of scripts for RED
  19. DWARF  VI.   Whether  a  new character
  20. will  be  written in to replace Rimmer
  21. is   a   matter  for  speculation  but
  22. whatever  happens  RED  DWARF  VII  is
  23. definitely still go for broadcast next
  24. January.  Hopefully more news on Chris
