- In last issues round up of the other Amos disk mags I forgot about Didsmag.
- Apologies to Richard for that. So to make up here is a short review of the
- latest issue.
-
- I recently recieved DIDSMAG ISSUE SIX from the editor (Richard Martin)
- who is doing the best he can to keep Didsmag going with virtually no support
- from anyone! Richard is doing a great job considering most of the work is
- his own. Didsmag contains the usual articles/source/gfx etc. and also a few
- tutorials on using Imagine, nice to see something different, personally I
- have always wanted to dabble with Imagine but the cost of getting a manual
- for the cover disk version (Amiga Format) and the time required to learn how
- to use it has never much appealed to me. Where was I ? Oh ye, Didsmag's
- driver is written in Amos and could certainly do with a "Lee Bamber" touch
- to it, it is very plain and basic, but having said that it does the job it
- was written to do and that's to display text!
-
- At the bottom of the screen are a strip of numbers, in the main screen are
- the headings to the articles. What I found strange was the articles are not
- numbered and so to click on a number to load say article 5, you have to count
- yourself down the article list. This doesn't sound too bad but it does get
- annoying at times when a simple number in front of the article heading would
- save all this hassle. Also the driver crashes a lot if you press the wrong
- mouse button in certain places. O.K the driver needs a lot of work on it, but
- It's still a good mag, especially as it's free. So send Richard two blank
- disks and a stamp and see for yourself.
