- We have now completley stopped Power Packing source code on all future
- Amoszines and Supplement disks as it is causing new users a lot of
- hassle and in turn causing me hassle trying to explain what they have
- to do. Whilst pondering over a solution, Andy Dobinson rang me to
- tell me about a neat routine he wrote to Powerpack all the source into
- one file that could be de-crunched from AZ. It was great except it had
- a few drawbacks like having to re-load AZ afterwards and the overall
- compression rate was low compared to my favourite crunching method,
- LHA. Anyway Andy's routine spawned the idea in my little brain of
- using LHA from within Amoszine, it would be great, mega compression
- rates and an extremely simple de-archiving process without leaving
- AZ or shutting it down, also the user could select any single .LHA
- file rather than the lot in one go. All that would be required was
- a disk with enough space on it. So I did it and couldn't believe how
- simple it all was. I used the filemaster.Amos routine from AZ 1 to
- run and supply LHA with the CLI parameters and that was it really.
- I showed this to Co-Ed Lee Bamber and he waved his magic Amos wand
- and came up with a cool AZ interface, press F10 to take a look at it.
- Cheers Lee and Andy!
